The Tea Helps to Prevent Weight Gain
According to researchers at Beiersdorf German laboratory, a series of experiments showed that the use of an infusion made from the plant Camellia sinensis inhibits the generation of new fat cells (adipocytes) and stimulates the elimination of the fat in mature cells.
“We have shown that white tea may be a natural and ideal source of substances for losing weight,” said Marc Winnefeld, a member of the research team.
According to the scientist, white tea may be at least a partial solution to the problem of obesity that affects mainly the United States, where it is considered that about 60% of the population is overweight.
“In industrialized countries, the increasing incidence of obesity-linked disorders, including cardiovascular disease and diabetes are growing problems,” he said.
The scientist said that the infusion induced a reduction in the activity of genes linked to the development of new fat cells while promoted the dissolution of the fat in the adipocytes.
White tea is less processed and contains more of the ingredients that are believed responsible for the effects shown in the study that green or black, according to scientists.
Tea in the reinforcement of health
Tea is probably the most surprising source of nutrients. After water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world. Green tea is made from fresh leaves, boiled, rolled and dried at high temperature. For the manufacture of black tea leaves are left to wilt, then they are rolled and dried.
A cup of tea we are so familiar that it is difficult to imagine that in every sip, are hidden substances capable not only to develop our defenses, but also help us to combat chronic diseases, such as disease heart disease or cancer.
The nutrients in tea that have provoked the enthusiasm of researchers are the flavonoids. There are thousands of flavonoids in the plant world, and many have antioxidant functions. This means they can absorb and deactivate free radicals that may be harmful. Indeed, if left to roam in the human body, they can be the cause of chronic health problems such as cardiovascular disease, cancer, cataracts, inflammation, arthritis and even disease Alzheimer’s. Thus, it was highlighted in a study conducted in the Netherlands (1) that persons in whom we detected a power greater flavonoids are less prone to heart disease than others.
