<p>Speaking to Europa Press, Martinez explained that this is the conclusion of one of the key studies presented at the Second Congress of the FESNAD, held today in Barcelona, and stressed that the underlying claim in medical thinking, but now it has been found . </p>
<p>&#8220;Some foods have higher levels of antioxidants that prevent inflammation,&#8221; noting that this, in turn, &#8220;acts as a trigger diseases such as diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia,&#8221; remarked Professor of Nutrition at the University of Navarra. </p>
<p>The researcher Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Faculty of Medicine, Boston, biochemist and medical doctor Barry Sears said at the conference the importance of anti-inflammatory role of the Zone Diet, which proposes the proportion of 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein and 30% fat with extra intake of Omega 3. </p>
<p>Inflammation is a normal process the body that helps prevent infection and heal injuries, but the inflammatory response may be increased so silent and out of control and lead to various diseases. </p>

<p>LDL cholesterol was recorded decreases to 42.4 percent in the red rice group while 39.6 percent of the simvastatin group. Triglyceride levels showed no change in the group receiving statins, but the group of brown rice will drop to 29 percent, estimated the difference this decrease may be due to properties of fish oil. Participants in these red rice group lost weight recorded an average of 4.7 kilograms, while the statin group only 0.3 pounds.</p>
<p>Fermented red rice or also known as hong ku is also often used for treatment and as a spice in Asia for centuries.</p>
<p>According to research, brown rice contains a substance called monacolin-K, which is almost identical to the cholesterol-lowering drugs lovastatin (Mevacor), and several other types of monacolins that has benefits as anti-cholesterol.</p>
<p>If there is other research that supports the results of his research, these findings might offer an alternative for patients who have high cholesterol levels but do not want to take statins or can not tolerate medication.</p>
<p>However, he added, patients who have heart disease should be sentenced to fixed taking statins because these drugs have been shown to decrease mortality.</p>
